  1. The ROUTE gadget is only available when the CREATE DRIVER window is
  2. displaying the `GET FROM SYNTH' MIDI protocols.  Use of this gadget
  3. requires entry of a MIDI command to GET data and entry of the string
  4. gadgets found at the far right of the window (Ch Ofst, Chan Mn, Chan
  5. Mx, Size).  Patch # Mn and Mx may also be required if the command to
  6. GET data contains a "-P".
  7.  
  8. Click on the ROUTE gadget after entering the required data, and a
  9. requester will open allowing you to change the MIDI route prior to the
  10. GET.  Hit the GET button when the route is correct.  The sysex file
  11. that is received will be displayed in the `»» Work Area ««' portion of
  12. the CREATE DRIVER window.

  14. If the entered Size was too small you will not be able to view the
  15. entire file, if it was too large you will receive a message stating
  16. that the expected sysex file was not received.

  19. can simplify the driver creation process!

  21. To change the MIDI route, hold down the left mouse button while pointing
  22. to one of the MIDI route numbers.  The number will turn red and the
  23. pointer will disappear.  Continue to hold down the left mouse button and
  24. move the mouse up to increment and down to decrement the value.  Release
  25. the mouse button when the correct value is displaying.

  27. S-Ch  ==>  Sysex Communications Channel.  Make sure this channel matches
  28.            the channel of the instrument you want to communicate with.

  30. Ch    ==>  Audition Channel.  This channel is used for the "Note On"
  31.            commands generated by "The PatchMeister".  This channel will
  32.            more than likely be the same as the `S-Ch' channel.  However,
  33.            some synths (i.e.  Roland MT-32) use one channel for Sysex
  34.            Communications, and a different set of channels for "Note On"
  35.            commands.  Make sure this channel is set to match the channel
  36.            on which your synth will respond to "Note On" commands.

  38. In    ==>  MIDI In.  Bars&Pipes Pro users may select a MIDI In port.

  40. Out   ==>  MIDI Out.  Bars&Pipes Pro users may select a MIDI Out port.

  42. P-Bay ==>  Patch Bay MIDI Channel and Patch Bay Program Number.  If you
  43.            are using a patch bay, make sure the MIDI channel matches the
  44.            channel that your patch bay is listening to, and that the
  45.            program number is the program (patch) that will establish the
  46.            proper MIDI route to this synth.

  48. Patch ==>  Patch Number.  Some sysex requests require that you specify
  49.            a specific patch number.  For instance you may request that
  50.            Patch 5 be transmitted.  The patch number will be placed in
  51.            the MIDI command replacing the `-P', so make sure you have
  52.            keyed a `-P' in the MIDI command if you need to.
